Greek Hoplite Casualties

I think this counts as a declaration of war!

I've fished out some Greek Hoplite casualty markers for my opponent to use if he wants, I'm sure he'll need them!

I do have some Persian casualty figures to paint up, unfortunately they are unlikely to be ready in time for the game.

The figures are Vendel Miniatures, now sold as 28mm Bloody Day Miniatures available from Sgt Major Miniatures in the US. They also have some very nice Achaemenid Persians in their range. The figures are on the larger size but I think they're fine in their own units. The markers are from Warbases in the UK.

The second set of markers are simply some hoplite shield transfers (from Victrix Miniatures I think), on 20mm and 25mm circular bases.
The 20mm size = 1 casualty, 25mm 2 causalities.

Early Achaemenid Persian Command Chariot - Pre-basing

I've just finished painting up the Command Chariot for my Early Achaemenid Persian.
Initially this will represent the Great King, but once I replace it with the Warlord Games model, it will be a division commander, probably containing the Immortals.

The model is from First Corps  Miniatures.  I've made one small alteration, replacing the drivers whip with a piece of thin wire.

Once it's all based up I'll post some pictures.

Greek Skirmishers

It's been a very busy week outside of the hobby world.
Hobby wise, currently sorting out my Early Achaemenid Persian army for the invasion of Greece. On the painting table is the Persian Generals chariot, it was going to be Persian Kings Chariot, but I've seen the nice model that Warlord Games have, so I'll be adding that as the Great Kings Chariot in time. Until then the model I'm painting up will do. Pictures will follow once it's done.

I have a little rebasing to do before the Persians are battle ready.

Below are some Greek Skirmishers from my own Greek Hoplite army, the figures are all Wargames Foundry, and are based on 25mm circular mdf bases.

Early Achaemenid Persian Command Base

Finished Painting an Early Achaemenid Persian Command Base last night, just needs varnishing.
28mm Wargames Foundry Miniature.
Have one more Commander to paint before the invasion can begin. Hope to have a couple more units ready as well.

Achaemenid Persian Infantry

A slight diversion, the Great King has been challenged by the upstart inhabitants of Greece.

In order to raise an army for the impending invasion I bought some painted figures off eBay and have added some finishing touches.

The middle figure is the original eBay purchase, the two flanking figures are the finished figures ready for basing. I have enough to provide 2 more units for my Early Achaemenid Persian army for Hail Caesar.

I'm also urgently painting up some commanders.

More pictures as the Persian hordes assemble for invasion.

The figures are Miniature Design Studio.
