Natal Native Contingent
A little kick start of my own, a return to the Anglo-Zulu War. Warlord Games 28mm plastic Natal Native Contingent. I have a plan for a scenario based around the death of Prince Louis Napoleon Bonaparte, to be played using The Men Who Would be King rules. I have purchased all the figures needed and am in the process of painting them up for the game.

Kickstarter - Freyja's Wrath
Just a quick post, tonight at 18:00 (GMT) Bad Squiddo Games have their next Kickstarter happening. This time we're offered more Shieldmaidens, Beavers, Moose and Norse Goddesses! There is a particularly lovely Seer model sculpted by the talented Shane Hoyle. All this and ravens too, might be worth adding something interesting to your Viking war bands, I'm thinking of using some models in Dragon Rampant as well as RPG settings.

Early Saxon Warlord
It's been a while, well what seems like a very long time for me since I last posted, and so a very belated Happy New Year!
To resume posting I thought I'd offer up an Early Saxon Warlord that I've painted up with the intention of leading the invasion forces for SAGA and Dux Britanniarum by Too Fat Lardies. These figures are 28mm from the superb Footsore Miniatures range which are a real pleasure to paint. The flag is from Little Big Man Studios.
The traditional New Year reflection has seen me look at my wargaming collection with a critical eye. Looking back over my blog posts it has become apparent that a number of projects have stuttered and my main interest of 18th Century has suffered. In addition I have started another army as part of a joint project with the newly formed club (more of this in another post). I have come to the conclusion that I may have bitten off more than I can chew, quite a common complaint I hear you say! I have slowly been sorting out and selling off parts of the collection in an attempt to rationalise, some it hasn't even reached the page of the blog!
One project that I'm contemplating selling off is the Crimean War Russians. I'm still mulling this over. If anyone is interested in acquiring these figures please drop me a line, it might just tip me over the edge!

Era of the Princes Rus
NADOLIG LLAWEN
HAPPY CHRISTMAS
A little Christmas greeting and some pictures of my recently completed Era of the Princes Rus, 4 points for SAGA. I will be increasing this set to 6 points in the near future, the figures are purchased and in the queue. These are 28mm figures from Gripping Beast with Little Big Men Studios shields and banner. I will be posting a completed army in the New Year, yes I've actually completed an army, 15mm though, but for now I'll keep you waiting....especially as I'm not quite ready to reveal as my flags are in the post!
I hope you all have a peaceful and enjoyable holiday period, and that Santa brings you parcels of lead and plastic to see you safely through the New Year.
Happy Gaming!

INCOMING!!!
Finally the Toy Story opponents for the Minions in the Battle of the Sand Box. I'll be adding a few more soldier units as the Minions have received some further reinforcements this week. I haven't yet decided on stats for Dragon Rampant, but will be along the lines of the Minion force, perhaps Woody, Bullseye and Jessie being Elite cavalry? Buzz will have Flying ability, of course....and maybe shooting with lasers?
Also photographed are some the terrain I've got ready, a part buried Pringles tube, and some children's wooden blocks, these were off eBay, but I've since seem some similar in the local supermarket going cheap. I'm also thinking of wandering terrain in the form of a discarded crisp packet roaming the battlefield, direction to be decided by D10 for distance and direction by scatter dice.

French Indian War
I've found my French Indian War project started many years ago and abandoned. They were intended for use with Muskets and Tomahawks, but only the French forces were started. I've a similar number of British and an Indian war party to paint as well which can be used on their own or added to the French or British as allies. I also found the buildings that I'd started work on, these need a little work to finish off but are pretty near complete.
The figures are 28mm Crusader Miniatures. This small force gives 2 groups of 12 line and one group of 10 Grenadier.

AWI British infantry skirmishing
Been a while since my last post, I return with something new and hopefully something improved. The new is the beginning of rebuilding my AWI collection. I was initially going to start with the Royal Welch but I had these six figures already undercoated sitting on the side, so they are first up. The figures are 28mm Perry Miniatures British infantry skirmishing.
The something improved is with reference to my new light box. Finally conceding defeat to the fading winter light I have invested in a basic light box. I'm hoping that this gives me the freedom to take photos when I have spare time available rather than leave it to chance; as well as improving my photographs. At least my light will be consistent, even if my photographic skills aren't!
