Successor Cavalry

More 15mm Successor cavalry, figures are from the War and Empire range by Forged in Battle. I really like these figures, a nice level of detail and easy to paint. 

These are the last of the 15mm ancients to leave the painting table, so I'll have to plan another batch soon as there are still plenty left in the box to paint. The good news is that they don't take long to paint up, and I find they make a refreshing change from 28mm. On the topic of 28mm my grand target for this week has been dealt a blow, as I haven't been feeling too well the last couple of days so I haven't made as much progress as I would have liked. Still, I have completed the Seven Years War Prussian Dragoons and they have now joined the backlog of units needing basing. I'm also very close to finishing 12 WSS Prussian cavalry, and I hope to complete them tomorrow. If I'm lucky I'll get at least one other unit done over the weekend.

Successor Agema Cavalry

15mm Successor Agema armoured cavalry (code WE-MH02) from the War and Empire range by Forged in Battle. I've also included below a group shot of the Successors project to date.

On the general hobby/painting front there has been a slight post Christmas lull as real life takes priority, however I've managed to paint two units for my WSS British with a third nearing completion. There's also been some fantasy additions for Dragon Rampant, one of which is a conversion to create a Giant!

Theurophai

BLWYDDEN NEWYDD DDA!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

First post of the New Year is a continuation of my 15mm Successors project, Theurophai from the War and Empire range by Forged in Battle. They are based in deep formation for To the Strongest. I still have a lot of 15mm ancients to paint up, and have to confess to not doing much over the festive break apart from some conversion work on some models for Dragon Rampant with my girls, preparing the defence and assault forces for the attack on the Shire, lots of Halflings, Dwarven heroes, Cyclops warband and a surprise foe. I'm hoping to get some painting done on the surprise foe today as I've finished the conversion work. 

I hope the New Year brings lots of stress free fun and games with friends old, new and yet to be made.

Successor Pike

15mm Successor Pike from the War and Empire range by Forged in Battle. I've used 50mm wire spears from NorthStar for pikes, and based the whole unit on one single base for ease of movement, keeps the sharp pikes neatly ranked and helps prevent me from skewering myself.

Seleucid Scythed Chariots

A couple of 15mm Seleucid scythed chariots from the War and Empire range by Forged in Battle. Based for To the Strongest,  also suitable for Hail Caesar.

Seleucid Elephants

15mm Seleucid Elephants from the War and Empire range by Forged in Battle.

The models were obtained as part of the Kickstarter that launched the War and Empire range. These particular models took a little extra work in extending the neck of elephants with green stuff so that the mahout could sit astride the elephant. This was relatively straight forward once the head was pinned in position. I've also painted the Ptolemaic Elephants, they are currently waiting for some escort figures before being based. That's two more units for my Seleucids down, plenty more to go though...
