Macbeth

On return from Salute, suitably fired up I immediately got to work on painting some figures. The first of which is a new Warlord for my Scots SAGA Warband; Macbeth, and is a 28mm figure from Gripping Beast Miniatures. It and can be found under the SAGA Heroes of the Viking Age section of their website.
Painted in my 'quick' style, with a hand painted shield.
Looking forward to getting this famous warlord on the table.

Late Seventeenth Century - Earl of Abercorn Horse

In an earlier post I showed some 28mm Front Rank Miniatures that I had just started to prepare for painting. Pictures of the finished figures are below, they are painted as The Earl of Abercorn's horse for the Jacobite Army during the Williamite and Jacobite Wars in Ireland for the collection of Alec Brown. Painting reference from the League of Augsburg.

Keep an eye on the Seventeenth Century Gallery on the Front Rank website (the link can be found at the top of the page) for the finished unit (flag added, beautifully based and  photographed).

Below is a link to a previous unit I painted for Alec, these can be seen in the Front Rank Seventeenth Century Gallery, they are 28mm Sarsfields Horse.

Salute 2015 - The Loot

My Loot from the show - this year I was very good.

  • 28mm WSS French from Front Rank Figurines.
  • A strong hint (even I'd get that one) of another project, yet to be seen...
  • A Saracen Warband for SAGA - heavily discounted so couldn't resist.
  • A little something AWI from Perry Miniatures to add to my collection.

Keep an eye out over the year as (hopefully) this pile of lead will be transformed.

Salute 2015 Pictures 6 - Best in Show Award

Last but not least, the winner of the 2015 Best in Show is the stunning Fort George Summer 1779 Table from the collection of Ron Ringrose, dedicated to his son Jason.

This truly is an incredible table, it was a privilege to see it up close. I've done my best with my poor camera skills, but I did see a certain Mr Hyde taking some carefully framed shots which will no doubt be making an appearance in Miniature Wargames.

Enjoy....
