Beyond the Gates of Antares Strike Vector One: The Xilos Horizon

Finally finished painting the contents of the starter set for Beyond the Gates of Antares, Strike Vector One: The Xilos Horizon the new offering from Warlord Games. I was one week out on my initial target of 2 weeks, not bad considering my deliberations over colours to use.

Other than Foundry Arctic Grey 33 and White the following main colours were used.

GHAR
Army Painter  Desert Yellow - body.

Concord
Vallejo paints - 035 Cadmium Maroon.

Fartok
Vallejo paints - 882 Middlestone.

The bases were created by appling filler, then when dry pva and sand over some of the area of each base with some small gravel applied. The whole base was then given a wash of dirty water (thinned down Burnt Umber, or any dark brown), once dry the sanded areas were drybrushed with Foundry Base Sand 10. The areas of filler were then painted with Foundry Terracotta 37 Shade A and dry brushed with B and C. The Stones were painted with Foundry Vivid Blue 22 Shade A and drybrushed with B and C. Finally the stones were given a light drybrushing with Foundry Yellow 2 C.

I'm continuing to look for inspiration for suitable vegetation for my Gates of Antares games, but for now all is ready to give the rules a try out.
