The start of the second Bronze Age army, this time 28mm Mycenaeans. The figures can cover Mycenaean, Minoan, and Trojan armies, but for the purpose of the blog I'm going to label them as Mycenaean. The figures used in the Mycenaean army are from Wargames Foundry, Newline Designs and Redoubt Enterprises.
First up are some slingers based as skirmishers. These are all Wargames Foundry figures. Once again, I've based them the same as the Sea Peoples on 60mm x 30mm bases.
Interestingly Mycenaean relates to the term given to the art and culture of Greece from around 1600BC to 1100BC. The Mycenaeans relate to Mycenae on the mainland of Greece, while the Minoans are associated with the Greek Islands with their centre on Crete. Mycenae is of course famously associated with the Trojan War through King Agamemnon who led the Greeks against the Trojans.
Basing: WSS 2mm Farmland B flock, WSS 4mm Golden Wheat tufts, WSS 4mm Wild Meadow tufts, WSS 6mm Wild Meadow tufts.
All paints used are from Wargames Foundry, Mediterranean flesh triad for skin tone.
A nice start to a nice looking army…
